How does the application process actually work at Wealthhanc?

A five-step process with no hidden stages
Many adult learners have had the experience of a promising initial meeting followed by weeks of silence, confusing paperwork, and a final decision that arrives too late to plan around. Wealthhanc runs a different process. Step one is an initial enquiry — a 20-minute conversation by phone, in person in Cairns, or by video call. Step two is a program mapping session where an adviser reviews your background, existing qualifications, and goals, and recommends a stream and entry level. Step three is a formal application — a single digital form that takes most applicants under 30 minutes to complete. Step four is an offer letter, issued within five business days of receiving a complete application. Step five is enrolment confirmation — selecting your timetable, signing your student agreement, and receiving your induction materials. From first enquiry to enrolment confirmation, most students complete the process in under three weeks.
What you will need to have ready
Previous qualification documents
Transcripts or completion certificates from your highest level of prior study. If you are applying via RPL, a preliminary evidence portfolio — employment records, references, prior certificates — is required at program mapping stage.
Fee and funding confirmation
A completed fee declaration form indicating your funding pathway — self-funded, Queensland Training Subsidy, VET Student Loans, or employer-sponsored. Funding eligibility is confirmed during the program mapping session before you formally apply.
When is the next intake?
Wealthhanc runs four intake cycles per year: February, May, August, and November. Each cycle opens for applications approximately eight weeks before the start date. Some programs with placement components have capacity limits and may reach their intake ceiling before the application window closes — we recommend applying as early as possible if you have a specific start date in mind. Foundation Studies accepts rolling enrolments throughout the year and is not bound to the four-cycle calendar, making it the most flexible entry point for students who are ready to begin immediately.
Admissions questions we hear most often
Can I apply from outside Cairns?
Yes. The application is completed online and the program mapping session can be held by phone or video. If your chosen program has on-campus requirements, those are clearly stated in the offer letter so you can plan your schedule before confirming enrolment.
What if my application is unsuccessful?
You will receive a written explanation of why the application did not proceed and a recommendation for the appropriate entry pathway — typically Foundation Studies or an alternative program level. We do not decline without providing a clear next step.
Are there age restrictions?
You must be 17 or older to enrol in any Wealthhanc program. There is no upper age limit. Our current student body includes people in their 50s and 60s returning to education after long careers, and the individual study plan model is well suited to this cohort.
